WOMAN: (adamantly) It’s over. MAN: (frustrated) I don’t see the problem. WOMAN: Trust me. It’s over. MAN: What can I do to make this happen? Just tell me. WOMAN: There’s no point in any of this. MAN: Do you want more? WOMAN: It’s too late. MAN: If you need more, I’ll try. WOMAN: No… No…. There’s nothing you can say. MAN: We should talk this out face to face. WOMAN: I’m through. MAN: Come on… We’ll talk. Like two rational human beings. WOMAN: I
don’t have anything more to give. (The play continues until) (They both turn to face the audience. We realize they are wearing Blue Tooth ear pieces attached to cell phones. As they pass each other, they bump shoulders.) MAN: Sorry. WOMAN: Quite alright. MAN: (into cell phone) One more thing. WOMAN: (into cell phone) Just so you know. MAN: You know as well I do, Charlie, our firms should definitely be in bed together. WOMAN: If you’re thinking we’re gonna end up in bed together, forget it. (They exit) THE END |
